Union Gospel Mission's purpose has been to break and not perpetuate the cycle of homelessness. Desiring to put an end to homelessness, going beyond just free meals and safe beds to the underlying causes. Union Gospel mission strives to affirm each person’s value and offer a pathway to a different life by offering healing for the whole person, sharing God's love and power, and getting people back to work.
Holy Trinity has become a lamp post to Alcoholic Anonymous when they had few places to meet during the pandemic. Working closely with Covid guidelines, groups hold their meetings safely. Holy Trinity has welcomed Narcotics Anonymous groups when they had trouble finding meeting places during the pandemic. Groups now meet "distanced and safe" while following strict Covid guidelines. Spokane Valley Partners Food Bank is committed to providing food, emergency utility assistance, clothes, and hygiene products for local families, vulnerable youth, and impoverished elderly. They provide a safety net for those in need.
This program helps the SVP Food Bank supply weekend meals (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, milk & various snacks) that fill a gap for students involved in the CVSD's Homeless Education & Resource Team Program.
Lutheran World Relief is a nonprofit organization that helps families in the world's poorest communities build the resilience they need to thrive.
They provide aid in emergencies and help families restore their lives. Lutheran World Relief's goal is to help people build self‐sufficiency and create new community‐owned approaches to problem‐solving that will last long after their projects end.
